FAIRGROUND PARK ARBORETUM
Every Arboretum has special collections of plant materials that visitors can
study and enjoy. Formal gardens, historical and recreation parks, college
campus, and natural areas can all be arboreta.
SEWARD COUNTY AG PAVILION
Constructed in 1990, this multi-purpose structure is available for your
personal, business, industrial, recreational and promotional use. Paved
parking is available.
The Main Auditorium has 15,600 sq. ft. of clear span space. Other features
include a small meeting room-seating capacity 50, a fully equipped kitchen,
ladies' & men's restrooms & showers, and upstairs conference room-seats 150.
CAMPING INFORMATION
Blue Valley Camping
Location: ¼ mile south of Seward on Highway 15. Municipal facility; space for
approximately 12 units; electric hookups; pit toilets; trailer dump; water
available; fishing; fireplaces; picnic tables. Open from April 1st to
November 1st. These sites are available on a first come, first serve basis and reservations are NOT taken. More information can be found on the City of Seward website at www.cityofsewardne.com.
SEWARD COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY MUSEUM
One mile north of Goehner- Exit No.373 on I-80
The Seward County Historical Society was organized in 1967, the centennial
year of Nebraska statehood, for the purpose of preserving the history of
Seward County. This includes the following communities: Beaver Crossing, Bee,
Cordova, Garland, Goehner, Milford, Pleasant Dale, Ruby, Seward, Staplehurst,
Tamora, and Utica. The Society is supported entirely by memberships,
contributions, and memorials. The gift of a five-acre plot in Goehner helped
determine the location of the museum. The first building was dedicated in
September, 1979. The "Ag Frontier" building was added in 1984. All services

THE SEWARD CIVIC CENTER
The Seward Civic Center is home to the Seward Area Chamber of Commerce. The
Chamber can be contacted at (402) 643-4189. The Civic Center is open from
8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Portions of the building can be open until 11:00
p.m. to accommodate scheduled meetings. A resident caretaker can be found in
the lower level apartment after hours. Room Reservations: (402) 643-4470.
CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY
Concordia College was founded in 1894 by the Lutheran Church and is part of
the LCMS Concordia University System. The name change to Concordia University
took place July 1, 1998. More than 80 percent of Concordia's students are
members of LCMS congregations; nearly 98 percent are members of Christian
churches. All full-time professors are LCMS members. Religion courses are part of all students' General Education requirements.
Concordia's students come from many states and countries. Between 80-85
percent of traditional students live on campus. Concordia's 120-acre campus
has more than 20 academics, service and residential buildings. A new food service facility was dedicated in 1994 and the $12 million dollar Thom Leadership Education Building was built in 2000. A new track, field house and stadium have recently been added.

A four year Catholic Seminary located South of Seward on Hwy 15. St.
Gregory's has recently added a new chapel and a bell tower, classrooms and
library to the facility. Currently there are 36 students, capacity being 48.

older. As a couple, one must be at least 62 years of age. No permanent
residents may be under the age of 21. This is not a nursing facility,
therefore each tenant must be in good mental and physical health for their

Assisted Living
Twenty-two units of assistant living have been added to Heartland Park.
Residents in the assisted living areas will be provided three meals a day
and depending upon their needs and desires, can obtain assistance with
bathing and medications.

The Greene House is Seward's newest assisted living facility. Thirty units
provide assistance for residents of this care facility. Featuring private
bath and apartments, three nutritious meal a day, beautiful courtyard,
assistance when you need it provided by a 24-hour staff, secured entry and
exit, voice-to-voice emergency call system. Pets are welcome.
RIDGEWOOD (402/643-2902) has two free-standing facilities with the total
capacity for 100 residents, offering adult day care, alzheimers care & long
term care. The staff recognizes the importance of the preservation of dignity
and encourages independence for each of the residents.
SENIOR SHUTTLE
Transportation service for senior citizens of the Seward area, anywhere in
the city of Seward and within a 2-mile radius. No fare is charged, however,
donations are accepted. Most residents contribute $1.00 for a ride. This
service is operated by volunteers. You may use the service for visiting a
friend, shopping, hair appointments, doctor appointments, etc. Just call 643-
3177 between the hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30p.m. Monday through Friday.

ENTERTAINMENT
Featuring first-run films in the heart of downtown Seward is the historic
Rivoli Theatre. During the summer, Seward's Municipal Band entertains weekly
at Seward's outdoor bandshell. The Seward Bowl is an eight lane bowling alley. The Seward Country Club is a semi-private nine hole golf course. Enjoy
swimming in Seward's new $2.7 million swimming pool constructed in 2004.
Concordia University also provides year round public swimming at the athletic
building located on campus.
LIBRARIES
The Seward Memorial Library opened in September
2003, increasing the size of Seward's public library fourfold. Meeting rooms, computer rooms and a sizable increase in books are now available to
the public. Concordia University's Link Library contains more than 164,000
books and periodicals.
FINE ARTS
The fine arts thrive at Concordia University with more than a dozen musical
groups and a respected theater department. Concordia is also the home of the
Bartels Rock & Mineral Museum. The world's largest time capsule can be found
in Seward on Hillcrest Dr. A 45 ton, 20' x 8' x 6'. concrete vault is
filled with some 5,000 relics, remembrances, and reminders.
SEWARD'S 4TH OF JULY CITY
Seward is America's official "4th of July Small Town U.S.A." Join us each
4th of July for entertainment, crafts, quilts, antiques, a grand parade,
water fight, air show, fireworks, carnival, car show, food and much more.

Anchoring the downtown business district of Seward is the historic Seward
County Courthouse, a landmark with an old-fashioned feel, which provides
ample lawn space for the twice-weekly Farmer's Market. Seward offers
apparel, appliances, furniture and much more. Browsers can enjoy several
gift, flower and craft shops, variety stores, antique stores, bakeries, a
fabric store and an art studio. Locally owned Pac 'N' Save grocery and the

Hiking and Biking Trails
2.7 Miles - Following the picturesque Plum Creek
The 10 foot wide concrete path was built to accommodate walkers, joggers & bikers. The project came about through the flood plain buyout. The City of Seward, the Upper Big Blue Natural Resource District worked together to build the trail. The total estimated cost of the trail is $745,000, and it was partially funded with a FEMA grant.
